Fliteline Helipads
Access to Helipads are integral part of managing helicopter operations. Helipads are of two types –permanent (concrete) and temporary. India has been utilizing helipads for decades however temporary helipads outside military is almost non-existent. Fliteline has developed a globally accepted and locally integrated solution for temporary helipads which is portable and quick-deploy by nature.
Usage Areas:- Globally, the demand for temporary Helipads have originated initially from Military requirements and have now wide demand and acceptance in Civil areas of:
- Disaster Relief
- Internal Security
- VIP Travel Management
Are Helipads a necessity?
Yes, very much. To maintain safety margins in helicopter operations, there is no other alternative to having a helipad fitted with fire and other safety and navigational needs. Landing on unprepared grounds are risky from the dual standpoint of safety and operational cost. Hence, this is not in practice and helipads are insisted as necessary. Lack of helipads lead to restricted helicopter routes. While the machine is capable to fly anywhere, just the lack of quick deploy helipads are a drag on utilizing helicopters more efficiently and widely. Lack of temporary helipads is a gap area which requires solution in the overall Indian Civil Helicopter operations landscape.
Alternate Solutions:
Temporary indigenous helipads are known to have been made by using sandbags, perforated metal sheets, and plywood sheets. These are again, inherently pointing towards demand for temporary helipads.
